I have a number of product packages where the customer can choose from variations at different price points. What I want to do is be able to show the price range (e.g. $35.00 - $62.00) under the thumbnail view.
Any thoughts on how to do this (without having to switch to "call in for pricing")?
For an example of this, check out Neiman Marcus who uses it successfully:

I can think of only two ways to accomplish that (or something close to that).
1. If you show your products in the category list view as only 1 column you can use the short description to show the price range (because this can be displayed in the product list view when you only have 1 column)
2. Instead of using "Price" for the price text, you use "Starting At" or "As Low As". This works best if the percentage of items you have which have sliding scale pricing is pretty high.
Other than that I think you would have to make them separate products to reflect each individual option's pricing.
I hope this helps!
