Just getting started with an ecommerce site and have a few questions about Urchin.
We have a couple of Google Adwords Campaigns running right now and they go to specific product pages and NOT the index page. Yet when we check our Urchin stats they only show the index.asp page as getting any hits? This is also true for the ENTRANCE pages and EXIT pages...
When we check our CLICK PATHS (MC limit of 3 pages) it shows index.asp -> index.asp -> index.asp?? Is this because all of the site pages are dynamic instead of static? I thought MC ecommerce pages were static for SEO reasons??
I've previously used AWSTATS and it was in real time and provided much more info about unique visitors and the path they went through the website.
Info like the entrance page, pathway the customer used as they click through your site, how long they stay on each page, the browser and screen size, etc. are all critical to ecommerce. I know I am new to Urchin but I don't see any of this critical information or how I can access it?
I reveiewed other posts here about Urchin and they have an upgrade for $495 per month but since we are just starting our ecommerce store that is out of our price range at the moment.
I've found some web based stat counters like statcounter.com that provide all the above information in real time. Can I use something like this on my ecommerce site? I think you have to put a couple of lines of code on each page. Can I just add this to the html section of each page on my site?
I would like to use Urchin since it's included in my site but I don't see how to access critical info like specific paths customers click through my website, how long they stay on each page, and specifically where they came from, etc.?
I tried reading the Urchin help file but that just confused me and I don't see much info on the
Thanks,
Jill
