Full Version: How To Add A $7.50 Drop Ship Charge...
MonsterSmallBusiness Forums > MonsterCommerce > How do I?

How do I add a $7.50 drop ship charge per customer's total order from a particular warehouse or manufacturer? The manufacturer wants to charge this fee per seperate order shipped directly to the customer.
I don't want to add it per product, because it will charge $7.50 per product, not per total order. And I don't want to add it to the shipping, because it will add it to every order regardless of warehouse or manufacturer, right?
I can't figure this one out.
Thanks for the help.

AND, now that I think about it, I have products being shipped directly to customers from lots of different warehouses and manufacturers located throughout the country. The shipping rates vary depending on WHERE the product is being shipped from, and WHERE the product is going. How do I set this up? What if a customer orders one product from one location, and another product from a seperate manufacturer on the same order? How does this get calculated?
Thanks again,
Kevin

Well, you can only set up the shipping manager from one zip code, so you just need to choose a zip that would be as close to in the middle as possible. You'll over charge on some orders, lose on some orders and in the end hopefully you will break even on shipping. I have the same problem. My products drop ship from both sides of the country.

kcarrctc,

Welcome to the Forums. To clarify, the way that our shipping system works, is that Realtime shipping uses the one zip code to ship from and the customer's zip as a ship to address when accessing the right quote from the carrier database. This happens very quickly because it is all one quote for the total weight of the entire cart. If the system were to try and look up X different shipping quotes for X number of products, it would delay the amount of time to retrieve a good quote total by several seconds --seconds that your customers will not wait for.

You can set up custom shipping and this is allows you to set a flat rate to ship anywhere. Find a good average rate that works for you and this will work best.

There is currently no way to set multiple ship from rates or separate markups for different warehouses in the admin panel, but this feature HAS previously been suggested and is on a list of ideas to review as we move forward and improve things. Thanks for your feedback and thank you for using MonsterCommerce.

It seems to me that a possible option could be added in severl places.... Warehouse editor or product editor. Just like the free shipping switch or mark up switch.

This feature would be a great asset!

Shoot, I thought I only had this problem...lol
