I've heard mentions on here of several 800 rollover services. Who has tried them...comments?

We're using TelCan. They're a Canadian company, but we're in the USA and have no problems.

for the small biz that we are we are very happy to use AccessLine, our rates are through Costco
http://www.accessline.com/phone_services
i recall the rates to be much higher not going through Costco

we switch between the "smart message" and the "smart office" package with seasonal traffic

the featuresets are great for us
* Reasonable Per Min Rates
* Virtual Receptionist
* Full Featured Voice mail
* Instant New Message Alert
* Built-in Calling Card
* Faxes & Voice mail via E-mail
* Store Messages Online

we find that this is a perfect service for us because myself and my 2 other partners are in different locations. Faxes come in to the same number, a page is sent to our cell phones as well as an Email to notify us that there is a fax or voicemail and then you simply listen to your voicemails by dialing your number or by logging into your account on Accessline's website, Faxes come in and can automatically be routed to another fax number and or simply viewed online, in addition Faxes and Voicemails can be emailed as attachments.

Also the staff there was very helpful, they got us our vanity 800 number at no cost with the smart office package.

hope this helps

We use Ureach. It works great and they offer good pricing options.

I guess we are the only ones using Bellsouth ( A former Ma Bell company). It paid for itself almost immediately. For sure get an 800 number. Usually we get larger phone orders than web orders. They like the personal contact. Plus you can ask if they need anything else or offer more goods and services while on the phone. Also be sure and try to chat with them if they have time. In our case it's who's your favorite driver or sports team, player, etc...
unitedapparel
I would say get Vonage. there pretty cheap and great service.

G'Day

First time poster, soon to be monstersmile.gif user (waiting on v4.2).

Regarding toll free services in general:
Does it make any sense to integrate a toll free service if the owner is not working the business full time? Still working a 9-5 day job for example.

Thanks.

gcheak,

I would have to say Yes it is worth it, it doenst cost that much more, and i think it gives the customer a reassurance that you can be contacted with ease weather or not that is the case, in all honesty we have our number goes straight to voice mail. My partners and I are doing this part time and this seems like a similar situation to you.

With our service the minute there is a customer voicemail or fax it is sent to an email account. the email account we set up automatically forwards to our individual email accounts and our cell phones in the form of a text message so we always know when there was a customer contact, thusly we get back to them when it is coinvent for us, and always within a timely manner.

I've used Voicenation for years. They have the best pricing and features that I have found. www.voicenation.com. For $4.95/mo and $0.05 cents per minute you cant beat it. I get message delivery to email with MP3's, faxes to my email, call forwarding, notification.

Good luck
