Did you recieve this error on the forum? What action were you performing?

Capt,

I received a similar error. I was uploading images in bulk in file manager. I got up from the pc, let it run, came back and that error window was up (looked the same as shooter's, but cant be sure it was exactly the same). Closed the window and checked the pics. They all uploaded fine, so I didnt worry about it.

Shooter & SRG,

I'd like to help with this issue if I can, but I need more details. Shooter: Where were you in the admin panel when this error occured? SRG, you were uploading multiple files when this happened? I can test that on your site and see if I get a similar message.

The most effective thing to do in these cases most of the time is to place a ticket or call our tech team as they can best test the matter, address it and get it over to development for review with all the necessary details. But meanwhile, I will take a look at this matter and see what I can find out... Feel free to PM me if you have more details.

Hiya Jim!
If I didn't thank you before, I would like to take the time to do so now and offer kudos! If possible, Id like to also suggest Ryan and Steph give you a pay raise clap.gif

I am no processing 8,000.00-10,000.00 a day again.. vs the 100.00-300.00 days BEFORE your help!!! thumbsup.gif

The error just starting happening when I upload images. The images still upload fine, but this error shows after the upload.

Thank again for your time and consideration Jim...

I don't think the errors that Shooter and SRG are getting are related. Just because I had a similar exp. to SRG's.

It seems to me that I got an error similar to your's SRG when uploading either a very big file or a whole bunch of small ones. I think the error was, "The time needed to execute "this script" has ..." or somthing like that. I too noticed that the files I was trying to upload were there when I closed this error msg.

Yes, that sounds like what I got. I should have done a print screen and turned it in (I know...you can't fix what you dont know about), but I was in a hurry. It was a large group of larger files for our photo contest. The files were uploaded so I didnt worry about it.

..............................

In reflection on this...I have seen the timeout error...this was a script looking error window like what Shooter copied...know idea if it was the same, but I was uploading larger files in a group...probably 20 or so files of 200k to 800k each.

Actually this error message has been happening for MONTHS and appears every time a large qty of files are uploaded at the same time. My files always upload correctly. It's just a little bug in the way the confirmation screen appears. It's harmless.

Thanks.. as long as its a little bug, we'll just add it to the 'known list of little bugs' huh.gif

Hello,

I did test this out and what appears to be happening in the instance that I saw on my end has to do with the new error handling page that went out with the last patch or two.

Basically, even though I checked and the files are going up, some sort of error occured in the process. The results of the upload are normally displayed in the browser as a javascript alert, but what you are seeing is the HTML content of the error page served up WITHIN the javascript alert.

The error itself is not really causing a problem from what I can tell with the upload process. Regardless, it can probably be fixed so I will make sure this gets in front of our devteam. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

Hey gang!

Here is the bug already listed -
http://kb.monstercommerce.com/development/....asp?BugID=1085

What may have changed recently is the error handling page code is being displayed INSTEAD of the "Script timed out...The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded...".

I hope this helps. I am pretty sure the file manager is due for a revamp some time this year so this will be addressed at that time. In the meantime, it is pretty clear this is a harmless bug. Kinda like a user posted image
