I just wanted to get the thoughts of other monstersmile.gif clients who use Ordermotion.

At this point I would consider 8.0 a DOWNGRADE.

I'm hoping that me being able to view other companies POs is just a bug that will SOON be fixed by OM.

Yikes! How are you able to view other people's POs?

I haven't as yet found anything about 8.0 that we'll be using on a daily basis or that's a "wow" kind of change for me. I could have made a whole list of suggestions that would have been had I known there was a major upgrade in the works.
SAG
Ordermotion fixed the PO problem.

Yup no big WOW factor here either.

On a scale of 1-10 how would you rank the integration beteween OM and monstersmile.gif ?
bigman
3 out of 10. No order status updates, only orders posting. No inventory updates. But this is MC's fault. The Ordermotion API is very robust, OM simply won't/hasn't updated their end to take advantage of the OM features or fix the deficiencies in the current data they are sending to OM.

OrderMotion is an overkill and highly expensive for small businesses.....
bigman
Ordermotion is expensive when it comes to custom reports, etc. OM tries to also drive reveneu via high bill rates (i.e. nearly $200/hour) for any features you request. We've found their solution to be lacking in certain areas, as they haven't thought through their product in all of the areas, they tend to develop a feature then never enhance it and leave it quite lacking.

On the contrary Ordermotion is a very robust solution. The problem is MonsterCommerce has just not updated their Ordermotion integration in over 2 years. The original XML feed that was written by MC since 2003 has not changed. As of April MC was to address the deficiencies in the current feed but hasn't. I believe Shawn Smith was working on this. MC's API is very good, MC just hasn't taken advantage of it.

It is robust, but for some reason I see it for Enterprise clients ...my opinion is biased though... embarassed.gif
bigman
why are you biased?

SAG
I would agree with Bigman, OM is very robust.

monstersmile.gif if your listening -- Can we get an update on a better OM and monstersmile.gif integration?

Thank You
robert
I've been reading up on the order motion plug in tonight. I can't honestly say I fully understand what it is all about but I understand that there is at least the claim that one could run multiple monstersmile.gif stores and a physical store off of a single inventory. Is this correct?

I ask because we will probably soon have a second web site devoted to just wholesale. We also want to open a physical store (wholesale only). That's three channels. Can we really use order motion to run everything from a single (apparently web-based) inventory?

Is anyone doing this, and if so, is it really working? Could it be expanded to three websites? Four?

Do tell!

I can't answer for OrderMotion, but I can tell you that our system, the Stone Edge Order Manager, makes it easy to run multiple Web stores and a "brick and mortar" store off of the same inventory.

The Web stores can be any combination of MonsterCommerce stores and any of the other shopping carts and sales channels (Amazon.com, Shop.com, eBay) that we support. The Order Manager keeps track of the source of each order, and different company information can be printed on invoices and packing slips and in email messages depending on where each order was placed. When an order arrives via phone, fax, etc., it can even be assigned to one of your Web stores.

Whenever you receive new inventory, sell something to a walk-in customer, handle a return or exchange, or make any other change in quantity-on-hand, those changes are automatically sent to all of your Web stores that support real-time inventory, obviously including MonsterCommerce.

For more info on the Stone Edge Order Manager, please go to www.StoneEdge.com/OrderManager.htm, or give us a call at the number below.
