Any suggestions for a good .gif creator-editor?
We can do magic things with Adobe Illustrator, but it doesn't seem to speak Web very well.
I need simple things like buttons and small pix with a transparent color and reduced color palet and gif stuff. Don't care about animation.

thanks

I use Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Fireworks. wink.gif

If you have Adobe PhotoShop - it include Adobe Image Ready which can be used to make animations from bland to bling

As with any of the image editors there is a learning curve, but its worth the time investment to get all the tweaks - it can be used to make some pretty impressive images.

Hang in there - Photoshop is awesome!

Here's a helpful site that a girlfriend emailed me the other day... http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/workflow1.shtml

holly moley ... my head hurts just reading the first 3 lines.

Seriously ... CC thanks for that great link. I am emailing it to my brother who does the photos for my site. He's self taught by the trial and error method. I think he'll love working thru those step-by-steps. thumbsup.gif

Paintshop Pro is another that is less expensive and pretty easy to use.

Though I personally use Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Fireworks.

bigsmile.gif Me too! But, boy are there some cool tricks! I've been using photoshop for years and don't know half of this stuff... makes me think I could be getting **much** better results out of my photo tweaking than I have been.

I use PhotoImpactXL and find it just as awesome as Adobe Photoshop (which I also own). It is a lot user friendlier, the cost is much cheaper and just as powerful.
