After lots of experimenting with Google Ad Words, I've found cost-effective ways to generate decent click through rates (from 2% - 10% depending), but my conversion rate to sales is low - below 1%. What is average for online only stores out there? No brick and mortar but I just spent a TON of hours relaunching the site with all the cool MonsterCommerce stuff, so am hoping the site does of better job of converting, upselling, crossselling etc. Any ideas will be helpful. My product is very niche and sells for $15.

Gomar,
You may want to post cleaner pictures... pictures help ALOT online.
Secondly, I have not looked at your keywords... make sure the keywords are highly targeted and make sure you lead the user right to the product on the click... don't just take them to your homepage.
You can place a tracking URL for each keyword so you can see which keywords convert.

Ryan,
I agree with you on the pictures. Any tips on how to get them? I have a great little minolta dimage xt, but have a hard time getting truly sharp pix. And if I do, they look really fuzzy by the time I compress them....

HAve you tried scanning each page instead of photographing it. Scanning it might help elliviate that "homemade" look your pictures currently have because it will be clearer and flatter. You might think about creating one large graphic for each month (just the top of the page with your painting) and have a link to view each one so the shopper can get a good idea of what the entire calendar looks like. You can put a copyright over each watercolor in the big picture if you feel uncomfy about someone stealing your pics.

Thanks danilyn22 and captain! I took your advice and scanned some pages - I think they look way better. Really appreciate your input!
