Can a default image (faded logo etc) be put into the center content of the cart?
Have tried but can only get in on the complete page and will only show in the center on a page reload?

Is it possible or what am I doing wrong?

Nope, you would have to repeat that image the center of every page.

I hit this same question when designing a center border. I had to actually use an image in top border, bottom border and left and right column in order to create the effect of a center border on every page. Still cant create a universal background image for center.
