Good article. How can we learn the size of our asp pages, Captain?

Robert login to your admin panel then go to Site Html. Then go to Top of Page Editor. At the top of your screen there will be the pixel/percentage width along with alignment of your site.

I believe monstersmile.gif design is already setup to fit all screens, but if you do custom designing or import graphics that are too wide that will change things. Standard stores should be fine though.
Kind of sucks though, because if you design for 800X600 than things look small for the 1024X768 people. And if you design the other way around than things look big for the 800X600 people. There is very little middle ground.

Hi Robert, I'm not sure if you are referring to file size or pixel width.

One easy way to find this out the file size is to browse to the page in Internet Explorer, then click on File >> Save As.

Save the page to your desktop. It will also create and save a folder of images for that page to your desktop.

You can get your page's total file size by adding the file size of the html file on your desktop to the size of the folder of images IE created for you. (right click on them)

Another great source is:

http://www.echoecho.com/

They have a form on the homepage that will let you check file sizes of pages, broken links, spelling errors, invalid HTML ect.

Also a great source for user stats!
