Full Version: Inventory Errors

I know this is something I did wrong, last night I sold out of a item. This took the inventory down to 0. Today I logged on to find another sale (of a sold out item) so I jumped over to my inventory manager to see that it's showing them as not being sold. Is this because I moved the order from new to finalized? or do i need to do something else.

Do you allow negative quantity ordering?

Also when and order is not finalized it is not removed from inventory.

Changed the negative quantity from yes to no, that should help. It was just odd that after the order it put the items back into stock. (after I moved the order to complete not finalized.. my typo)

There's a difference between putting it back into stock and allowing negative quantities. Did it actually add another one into your inventory manager so that when you looked at the product after the 2nd order came in, the quantity showed 0? Or did it show -1? If it showed 0, that would be a problem (as long as you're sure it said 0 after the 1st order too).

Inventory should not re-add itself when the order is completed. That would be a ticket to tech support if that is happening.

If you're not sure, set some product to 1, then run two test orders and see what happens.

It was 10, then somebody rolled in and took them all. I then went to the inv mng and it was 0. Today I came in, saw an order for 1 was like huh? rolled over to the inv mng and it was 9.

The only thing I did was move the order last night from 'new order' to 'in-progress' then to 'complete'.

I did log in today and change it to the correct inv, just to keep others from ordering it, but this is after the fact.

That's not right then. Submit a ticket.

I'm not sure but I think I had a similar situtation on my site today. I found my mistakes.

I had an item in the onsale/clearance category and the quantity remaining was 35, well someone came and ordered 56, and then it went into the -21. But it still went through.

I went to site information - site wide settings and changed the answer "Allow Purchase when Quantity in Stock is Less Than Zero" to NO

Well I found it does work if you have the above question set to YES.

Because this woman came back and still ordered even though I had zero items available and the product showed on the site: out of stock. So once I fixed the above question to NO then it worked. Finally I just went ahead and set up all of my products with inventory stock, which I did not before because most of them are drop shipped and now I changed the question regarding" Hide Products If Not In Stock " to YES, so now they disappear .

Valerie,

The same thing happened to me this past week. I had a product reflect a -4 Qty, and it showed Out of Stock on the site, yet the customer was able to proceed to checkout. I changed the answer "Allow Purchase when Quantity in Stock is Less Than Zero" to NO and hope that takes care of it.

Valerie,

It just happened again. Changing the "Allow Purchase when Quantity in Stock is Less Than Zero" to NO didn't seem to make a difference. I just received an order and the Product Item clearly shows an "N" under "Qty In Stock."

To top it off and confuse me even more, I'm checking the CSV file and the "Inventory Display" column clearly shows a one under "Stock" and not a zero.

I'll let you know what monstersmile.gif responds to this ticket.
