Hi

We just upgraded to the plus plan..(not that that matters anymore whistling.gif ) but we have Urchin now and i was wondering is there a way to stop our own IP from showing up in the stats? Kinda throws them thru the roof when we do our inventory add ons.....we will be adding another 8000+ products and really dont want to dominate the stats with our own IP...... oh and another question when will MC be upgrading our urchin from v.5 to v.6?

I would love to know how to do this also. I am always a big part of our stats, and I would love to know how our traffic is really doing.

Hello All!
This is something that is possible, but generally is not very effective as most ISP's are setup on a dynamic IP system, which would mean that everytime your IP changes, the filter would need to change as well.

If you do have a static IP that you would like to filter out we can create an Urchin filter for you, but there will be an associated service fee. If anyone needs this please file a trouble ticket and we will check into accomplishing this for you.

Thanks!

Out of curiosity, what is the service fee. How much extra will it cost us?
RAZ
Well i have a static IP and would like to stay out of my stats... Now you want to charge for that service on top of the price hike which is not very good.. I mean i agree with price increases ..thats just business.. but take away the different plans from people thats just wrong iv been in business for over 20 years and thats just bad business practice..Just My opinion.. Now back to the IP thing tell us what you expect to be charging us for this service.....

RAZ-
I am using Urchin 6 on Demand for MonsterCommerce statistics and they have a way to keep your IP address of of the statistics. Unfortunately, Urchin 6 is a monthly service from Urchin and runs about $495.00/month.

The Urchin 5 program isn't that easy to configure. We would have to go in and manually set this up for each account. This would be very time consuming and as Matt stated, many customers' IPs change every time they log on. To allow us to provide this service to those who need it, we typically have a small service fee per IP address modification.

As for taking plans away with the Price Increase, I am not sure what you mean. We have combined all the good things about each of our plans into one great plan. I am interested to hear your feedback on this.

Ok here is my feedback, in when you offer options I feel being a business man that my customers would prefer to have an option in services like you offered before, you have one set plan now which is pretty much your pro plan, Correct? But as I see it the old Pro plan offered 300 MB of disk space and the new plan only offers 200, so basically u downgraded disk space which is important to people like me that have 5000+ products which we will be putting in close to 4000 today, this will eat up my space, we just upgraded to plus but considered the pro plan for our space use now we can't because you downgraded the Disk Space. but thats just my issue, There are many customers out there that have smaller service stores that do not require what the pro plan offers so economiclyl its not feasible to them and I would assume they would move on to Yahoo or miva or a lower grade service, I know if I didn't need all of your options (which I love) I would move to another service, and to be honest as soon as I seen the price hike I looked real hard for something comparable out there but for what I offer there is nothing out there I have a 3000 sqft warehouse full of product that I need to sell so fortunately it works for me. But for removing the options the average customer does not have the options now and like any other site out on the net that click next button comes real easy to them to go to the next site that offers options. From what I see out there 98% of the ecommerce sites out there offer options and thats what people shop for in my experience. So in closing this is just my opion, I respect any business that has to work there pricing structure to ecomidate to there level of cutrrent business, I go thru the same process all the time but I try not to remove what they already have and if I do I give them something else to make up for it so they don't feel like they lost something.

So in saying all that I will always be a loyal customer to monstersmile.gif Commerce for the service they provide and I need, But will have my suggested opinion on service changes like the past 25% increase you just implemented.

Good Luck and keep up the great work your doing.

So the question remains, how much is the service fee?

Just my opinion, but that response isn't very satisfactory. I was on the pro plan before, and so I have less of a problem (tho I also noted the drop in space from what we originally signed on for).

However, answering the questions of an effective price increase by saying you have included all good things into one plan is not an answer. Yes, there are a lot of good things in the plan you offer, which is more or less the pro plan. However, some of the good things you had to offer was a lower level of hosting for smaller companies without the needs of the larger ones. These companies operate on a fine line, and killing their level of service and telling them they have to now go to the pro plan (which is effectively what you did with changing to the "one great plan") can very much be a hardship for these companies.

I myself like the features of monstersmile.gif, and am glad I am using it. However for an e-commerce system, this $90+ a mo. is a lot of money to spend, especially for smaller companies with less intake. It doesn't allow a company to grow into other plans, they have to start at the top. It also keeps new companies just starting out from using monstersmile.gif, as that is a big investment to make.

The other, major problem is once again a lack of effective communication. The price hike (which is what this is for anyone who was on any plan other then pro) was announced and implemented in rapid succesion. Between this and the sudden drop of your custom programming department, it definitely makes me stop and consider the stability of monstersmile.gif as a company. A lot of work has gone into building my store, and it would be a pain to start over. And, there are times when watching monstersmile.gif work, that I feel that one day I will see my store is gone, monstersmile.gif has shut its doors, and we are all SOL. This trepidations stems from the fact that we hear everything is going great the boom, 2 plans nixed and the pro plan cut down. Need something special, call custom programing, boom, department gone, sorry for the inconvience.

I regularly see in this forum people complain about monstersmile.gif's lack of communication, and have seen it for the 7 months I have been using your service. Each time the response is, "sorry for a failure and we accept responsibility, and have plans in place to address our failings in this area". Which is great, until the next week when you have to say the exact same thing for another issue. There comes a time when that sincerity to improve stops being sincerity, and becomes lip service.

Once again, I like monstersmile.gif, and have suggested it to other companies as a great option for ecommerce. I rarely have anything to say directed at monstersmile.gif, I just read the posts and move on unless there is imput I can make to help another user, or a question I need answered. But I felt I should speak up, because the response of "Taking away plans, I am not sure what you mean" was whole unsatisfactory. There were three plans. one at the $90 level and two much lower then that. Now there is one plan at the $90 level. There is no other way to view that other then a price increase through taking away plans.

Wow, that was my longest post ever. Well, that is it for my feedback. Thanks for taking time to listen.
RAZ

Hello All,
We greatly appreciate your input on these current changes. To get back to the original topic of IP filtering, we can do this for a one time fee. This would add in the needed IP address(es) that you need to filter out of your reports. This fee would be re-applied if you needed to have this updated. If you would like to find out more about this or request this please file a trouble ticket.
Thanks!

Travis
So, what is the 1 time fee. What is the doller figure.
RAZ
LOL So Much For that......I think there should be a forum strictly on Policy feedback.... I will attempt the ticket just for giggles but I dont think we should be charged a Fee for this this should be standard, Im sure its a common request.

RAZ
Travis
I agree. I think it is weird that a nebulous "Service fee" is mentioned, but no $ figures are ever mentioned. I am just curios and may do it at a later date. I dont want to go ahead with it now unless the price is really low. Not worth creating a ticket for, so I guess I will just ignore it for now.
