Once again Authorize.net is not responding. Anyone else experiencing this?

I had an order go through at 5PM EST but authorizes website appears to be down.

We just confirmed that Authorize.net is currently down. We will post more when we have more information.

For the mean time we recommend turning on a custom payment option to accept credit card payment if you are using Authorize.net as a payment processor.

As an authorize.net victim, I wonder how we should handle the CVV issue when we "go manual." I can create a CVV field, of course, but few customers will know what I am asking for.

Any ideas?

It appears to be back up.

I hate Authorize.net already, and I just started using them.

From their site:

"At approximately 3:20 PM Pacific time, the payment gateway experienced a brief unplanned downtime resulting from a large scale power outage at the data center of our primary Internet Service Provider (ISP). Your ability to process transactions and/or access the Merchant Interface may have been temporarily disrupted.

The security and reliability of the payment gateway is our highest priority. The data centers that house our servers are state of the art and include numerous power sources and backup systems. At the time of the power failure, we immediately began implementing our disaster recovery plans; however, power was reinstated in short order, negating the need for further action. The reason for today's failure is not yet known, however we will work closely with the data center to investigate the failure to assure that this type of event does not occur again in the future.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced as a result of this uncontrollable downtime. Transaction processing and Merchant Interface access are now fully restored."

Also - there's a scheduled downtime on January 19th from 12:00am to 2:00am PDT... so no orders for anyone using real time auth during that window.

One simple statement. AUTHORIZENET SUCKS! I can't wait to switch no matter what the cost of it will be. The are undoubtly the worst payment processors on the net. Movie T-Shirts

What authorizenet really means is that we are totally incompitent to run a business and if you had any smarts you would change your processor imediately also we are not responsible for the lost income from this because you are nothing, but a pawn and we don't care one bit about you or you're business. These are my 2 thoughts. Zach from Novelty t-shirts

Should try USA ePay. A lot of features for 1 low gateway fee, used to be lower then Auth.net, but went back up for new customers due to its popularity.

What would you switch to?
srg
Is there a thread here somewhere that outlines the pricing and features of the various merchant services available? I'd love to compare, and yes, Im not all that thrilled with authorize.net. After 2 years with them it may be time to make a change. I dont want to go into the busy spring season worrying if my payment processor will be up and running.

Hello everyone,

Monstermerchant accounts was proactive this summer when we saw some problems coming from Authorize.net. We now have different options for gateways, including one that has one of the highest uptimes in the industry and the only gateway never to have been broken into. They are compatible with our shopping cart and their reporting is extensive. They are also compatible with Monsterbooks and Quickbooks. The price is actually a bit cheaper than Authorize.net. clap.gif

Below are the gateway charges:

$ 0.00 setup fee
$ 0.00 annual fee
$15.00 monthly gateway fee
$ .10 center per transaction after 150 free transactions

If you would like to switch or would like more information, please contact me at 1-800-838-9699.
