Working on a small product card (in Word) & need to get as much text in the least amount of area. This is not for the web but on a printed card. Tried searching for info but way too much unrelated info. dry.gif

Would appreciate some opinions on which fonts you think are most legible in small print.

Thanks to all

Well it would have to be a Sans Serif Font and not a Serif as San Serif's don't have the embilshments on that would make it look complicated. The difference of the two is explained here..

A very simple one would be best, something like the London Underground Font would be good as that is very simple and clear but you will have to purchase that. IT can be seen here

I am presuming here you have tried the standard ones that come with windows by the way..

There is one called Decker on this page which might be good

The four at the bottom of this page are also contenders..

There are loads of free sans serif fonts on that site so have a dig through...

Thanks, northernladuk.

Actually I didn't want to necessarily find a new font. I think I've heard that serif fonts are more legible because people are more used to them(?) (does that even make sense--or maybe I remember wrong!)

Personally I like sans serif and agree they take up less room without all the little dangly things. I was looking for your & anyone else's opinions as to what small font is most legible--one of windows basic ones would be fine. I thought someone might know from printing experience, etc.

Just found this:

"Sans Serif faces are often more readable than serif faces when set in very small type (such as for footnotes, captions, and "fine print") "

Guess I'll have to figure out which one I like best now

I always use verdana or Arial when I want something small and legible
