MonsterSmallBusiness Forums > MonsterCommerce > How do I?

Does anybody know if there is a way to have subcategories under a subcategory. Here is an example of what I'm looking to do. I currently have the main category named "College Products" then the "school names" I want to have the main category named "College Products" then the "school names" and then have subcategories like "License Plates" "Key Chains" "Pen Sets" Etc... Any suggestions???? Anybody know if 4.0 will have something like this?

Here is the store address if you want to see the currently layout:

Thanks for the help!

4.0 will allow us to make as many subcategories of subcategories as deep as you wish. However, 'They' say (whoever 'they' are) that sales diminish rapidly after 3 clicks. Point of entry to product.

Does anyone know where to find hard stats on: Load time to exit ratio and clicks to product to sales stats?

Thanks brassunicorn!

I can't wait for 4.0 to be fully deployed.

More clicks means lower conversions... however, 4.0 allows you to display preoducts as you drill dwon into categories. So, say for instance, you have,

Apparel, Mens, Outdoor, Swimwear, WetSuits as drill-down categories.

Under the category names as you are drilling down, you can place products that fit within a particular category, even though there are sub categories below.

Pretty sweet. smile.gif

Way Sweet! Say Capt'n. How about those of use who have used groups extensively. Will there be an easy way to convert these to subsubcategories?

Perhaps one way to prevent a loss of sales at "level 3" and beyond is to use pulldown menus that show the entire structure of your catalog. These can be generated easily with third-party programs.

I've used Ulead's menu-app program, which costs only $29.95 (http://www.ulead.com/ma/runme.htm)

How does one add sub-subcategories in 4.0? (Years ago, I did GUI testing on levels, but when level 1 was broad in concept, level 4 actually worked better than stopping at level 3.) Thanks!

Moto,

Check out http://www.4-fans.com we created a menu for them since they have so many items and teams see what you think.

Hi. I misunderstood Captain's reply. I thought he meant that 4.0 had the capability of sub-subcategories (Apparel, Mens, Outdoor, Swimwear, WetSuits as drill-down categories.)

As you say, drop-downs or flyouts are other options. In this case, I was hoping to avoid using drop-downs or flyouts. I was hoping to use a showcase image of three types of products, as opposed to titles. No problem. There's always another way.

Correct me if I am wrong, but you can do this
