Full Version: Clearing Out Old Orders
MonsterSmallBusiness Forums > MonsterCommerce > How do I?

We are doing a little New Year house cleaning and I want to deleted the orders for most of last year. I have MonsterDP and have backed up the orders. However, I cannot see a way to delete orders besides doing it 25 at a time. This is a problem when I have close to 9000 to delete. Any ideas?

Interesting Idea.
But when these are deleted can the customer still login and view their old orders??

I don't think so.

Hello -

purplekitty is correct on that question... if an order is deleted, the customer that placed the order would no longer be able to login and view the order status.

Currently Dataport does not have the ability to delete orders from your store... they would have to be deleted via the admin panel. You do have the ability to delete multiple orders at a time, which should help to speed up the process. If you go to one of the order sections in your admin panel, you'll see a number of orders listed, with a checkbox next to each (there is also a checkbox at the top of the list of check boxes that will select all of them). Once you've selected the orders you'd like to delete, scroll to the bottom of the list and you should see a 'Delete Selected' button.... this will delete all orders with a check next to them. Using this method you can delete up to a full page of orders, which should greatly help to speed up the process.

Hope this helps!

I understand this, but thanks for the heads up.

I understand how to do that but it only brings up 25 per page. This is 360 pages worth to delete. This will take quite some time. Any other ideas?

Hello -

Currently that method would be the only way to delete orders from your site's database.
