I would like to add free shipping to orders over a certain amount but would like to excluse a few products. Is this possible?

Setting up free shipping over a certain amount would be fairly simple through a Custom Shipping Method (Order Processing > Shipping Manager). The only way I can think of to exclude certain items from that free shipping offer would be to build the shipping charges for those products into their prices. You could add a variant to the product called 'Shipping Charge' where the surcharge is the shipping fee... then check the 'Free Shipping' box for that product. You would then always charge the appropriate amount for shipping on that product, and the rest of the order (if over the specified amount) will receive free shipping.

Thank you for the info however that will not work because I do not won't it to look like the price of the item is higher.
