Full Version: Multiple Variants?
MonsterSmallBusiness Forums > MonsterCommerce > How do I?

We are using advanced variants for some products (just recently), but Im having some problems. I cant seem to figure out how to get more than one set of variants to work.

example:

Flower Fresh Lotion

I have the scents setup, but when I try to also add a variant for gift wrap it gets them all fouled up and groups them under one variant set.

I also have 2 scents that are sold out, but even though the inventory on that variant was 0, it allowed customers to add to cart...so I had to just uncheck those 2 variant selections. Did I do something wrong? If it doenst really tyrack the inventory of each, what is the use of the advanced variant? I must have missed something.

One thing you might check is when you add the second set of variants, make sure at the beginning of the line that the correct variant group is in the drop down box. I've missed that before. Sometimes it's the simple things we overlook?user posted image

We have never been able to get variants to work as they are suppose to. I believe there are still a lot of issues listed for these. We just create a separate product for each variant. It is not elegant, but at least it works.

SRG--did you figure it out? I use advanced variants extensively throughout my store and despite being a time consuming process, they seem to track individual inventory well--with the exception of something like gift wrap where you have an unlimited quanitity of gift wrap, but a limited quantity of lotion--and you need to put in a quantity for each. So to prevent someone from ordering 12 wrapped and 12 unwrapped lotions (if I only have 12 lotions in stock), I will say I have 6 and 6 and adjust accordingly as I make sales. Maybe someone else has a better solution for a situation like that...
