hi. i am developing a store for a band. a company that does merch is building the store with monstersmile.gif commerce, hosting it on their end, database and all. the store i am creating has a customized look different from the templates that their store uses. i have save the URL of the forum post that describes how to remotely host an item. one form per item, etc. but how do i remotely host the shopping cart? so this way i can have the store on the band's servers, yet all the info and store pulls from the database/store hosted on the merch company's site?

Hello -

If the shopping cart site is hosted on our servers you would not be able to pull information from its database from an outside site. You could link the outside site to the shopping cart site, but it would not be able to dynamically pull content from the database.

I think your best bet would probably be to host the outside site in the same location as the shopping cart site... basically combining them into one site. You could then use the product pages, etc., that the shopping cart provides that do offer dynamic content.

Hope this helps!

Possibly what you are looking for is to Remote Script the buy buttons of the store. This way you could put the buy buttons on a separate site, but clicking on them would take the customer to the shopping cart. Here is a link on how to do that.
