Correct me if I'm wrong but Linkpoint does not offer a virtual terminal like say authorize.net would. So my question is how do you handle returns or refunds?

The last solution I was using I could do this from within the admin panel, but monstersmile.gif doesn't have any obvious way to do this?

any help?

Hey Kman.
I've always used Linkpoint, and I do have a virtual terminal...it's part of my admin panel (that I use to report and batch).

hmm, I better look into this then, it was always built in the ecommerce back end where we had this site hosted before.

I use yourpay.com which is powered by Linkpoint and I have a virtual terminal and can handle returns as well.

kman,
I still have my site at the host you left. I use Linkpoint virtual terminal often for phone & mail order sales & could also be used for returns. Are you saying it changed when you switched to monstersmile.gif?

Also is there anyway in monstersmile.gif to partially settle an order, i.e. if some of the items are backordered? On the old host thru Linkpoint you can authorize the entire amount when the customer orders, but if you ship part & capture funds for that portion, there is no way to capture the rest when you ship the balance. A new Point of Sale ticket has to be entered. You can get the customers cc# and exp date, but there is no way to get the cv code.

Thanks to anyone who knows... biggrin.gif

Hey Kman.
I brought my Linkpoint account with me when I joined monstersmile.gif. I was doing charges manually when I began ecomm.
You should also have access to a feature called "My Merchant Office" which is a really helpful administrative and resource panel with Linkpoint.
Hope that helps.

Hey TNTGram.
Im not sure where it is, but there is a thread somewhere that had a discussion of this (or a very similar) topic. You might want to try a search...part of the discussion was "how best to handle this."
Kman
well I inherited the site on the old host TNT, and since you could handle everything from the hosts admin panel I never had a need to use anything from linkpoint.

So I guess I'll have to find my login and pass for the virtual terminal and do everything there, what a pain though.

KMAN,
You probably figured this out by now, but...If you haven't logged in directly to Linkpoint before and you came from BigStep, your Linkpoint login is your store number (same number you keyed into monstersmile.gif under payment options) and the first 8 characters of your original (the very first one you set up) BigStep password.

TNTGram,
I believe you can partial ship under monstersmile.gif, but you can only fully settle under Linkpoint.
