But how can we show the SSL credentials for our sites if they are processed thru the MonsterCommerce transaction process instead of our own SSL certificate???
Captain
The lock in the lower right hand corner of the browser will show that your site is secure. I guess you could also create an icon that says your site is secure. The benefits of purchasing your own is that you geta "true site indentification" icon to post to your site...

I think MC should make an icon for all of us to put on our site to show that we are secure. Does anyone agree?

I agree. I remember seeing something like that in one of the MC powered sites, but can't remember where it was.
It would be nice though if MC can create a "Monster" icon and let us all use it.
How about posting it on the newsletter? rolleyes.gif

I'll get a designer on this.... we'll post some graphics in one weeks time. smile.gif

Where are you thinking you would want to post the graphics? What sizes do you desire?

Thanks!

Unfortunately, that is not an option that really can work to show it is secure before going into checkout. The reason behind that is because the shared security certificate belongs to the server it resides on (secureXX.monstercommerce.com). The script that Geotrust provides (with whom we purchase our certificates through) takes what is in the address bar and verifies if that is a site that is indeed secured by Geotrust. However, since it does not say secureXX.monstercommerce.com in the address bar, it does not show up, and if you find the blank image and click on it, it states that the site is not secured by Geotrust.

We do have a "Powered my MonsterCommerce" setting on every site which is located at Site Information >> Site Wide Settings under the Site Layout tab. The setting is Display MonsterCommerce.com Copyright which if set to yes, will show the "Powered by MonsterCommerce" at the bottom at every page. biggrin.gif

Sabres,

I have a few ideas... I'll bring them up in tomorrow's meeting.
