Full Version: Too Many Category Sections On Storefront

New user here. Was playing with the Dataport tool and ran several uploads. I aborted twice thinking the system was hung. Anyhow, I finally figured out that it just takes a lot of time. So I let the upload run until completion.

Problem is the storefront now shows a section for each time the DP tool ran (or so it seems). First time through I had some errors in my input file and I now have THOUSANDS of categories that I do nto want. Don't know what to do. Should I purge everything and just start from the top again? How would I do that?

I think I am going to do just that. I have literally pages of categories. Somehow, the product descriptions got used as category names. Just going to start from scratch.

You can ask for your products and categories to be removed by filing a trouble ticket for it, but uploading multiple times would not have made extra categories. If a category already exists then it would just use that one and not make more. Go ahead and send your CSV sheet to dpsupport [at] monstercommerce.com for evaulation. Thanks!
