Ok, what's the deal?
In the last day, I received 2 emails from different customers who had recently placed orders.

Here is the text of one of them "(cust. name removed) is inquiring about their order. Their text is below.
I have not received my order. How can I find out where it is? I needt it ASAP "

And here's the other one:"(cust. name removed) is inquiring about their order. Their text is below.
WHEN WILL IT ARRIVE? "

First of all, the way the email is worded is very strange, but when one email came in, I didn't think much of it. Even though the order had just been placed two days ago, I just tracked the package and provided the delivery and tracking information.

When the second one came in a few hours later, I started to get concerned even though the email address it was coming from matched the email address provided by the customer. Especially since that package had already been delivered to the customer!

So, what's going on? Is someone accessing the database and then trying to intercept deliveries? Or am I just paranoid? Why would someone write to find out where there package is when they've already received it? And what's with the wording? Is that a template that monstersmile.gif uses (so and so is inquiring about their order), and I've never seen it before?

If anyone can provide some insight into this and/or similar experiences I would greatly appreciate it. And, I would also like to hear from a monstersmile.gif tech, if one happens to read this. (I'll also submit a ticket for this).

Please answer soon! I'm worried...

This is standard monstersmile.gif template.

As for why they are inquiring when they've already received it, there are several reasons. First, UPS (or whatever) could have just left it at their front door and they haven't seen it yet. Second, another person could have signed for it, but didn't give it to them. Third, they're planning to claim they never got it.

Usually, it's the second option for us. We just send them the link to the tracking information that says it was delivered.

If they claim they never recieved it, and UPS does not have a signature, file a claim with UPS. Tell the customer that UPS will investigate it.

It happens to us quite frequently. Most often it's a communication problem on their end. One customer's teenage son had signed for a package, and then lost it. He was afraid to tell his dad. They later found it under the kid's bed.

Well, I'm definitely relieved to know that's an email template.
I'll call the customer and see what's up.
Thanks

Hi mitchellalan -

I see that you placed a ticket regarding this as well. I would tend to agree with bookmark that it was probably a mixup on their end where they just didn't realize that the package had already arrived. I'm putting that ticket into my box.... let me know what you find out from your customer about it, or if there is anything else we can do.

Thanks!

well, I had a weird thing happen that really stood out...

a customer (who wasn't really a customer) said he hadn't received his package in ALBANIA. He said someone ordered it for him and he hadn't received it...

right now my store is BITING the big one in sales, not to mention sales to Albania.

I just wrote him back saying we have no record of a customer by his name, and he should contact his 'friend'..

Albania?

That's a new one.
