Full Version: Shipping Weight
MonsterSmallBusiness Forums > MonsterCommerce > How do I?
TotalBliss
When I manually add a product, I am not able to set the shipping weight less than 1 lb.

I have many products that weigh .3 and I don't want them to pay a shipping charge of 1 lb per product they order.

Is anyone else having this problem?
ultimatekeychains
Pretty much all of our products are set below 1lbs. We recently added 50 new items and have not been having any trouble setting the weight to .1, .15, .2, .20, .25, etc...

What happens when you try to set it?
TotalBliss
When I save it at .3 it just puts it back to 0

I am guessing that you are not clicking the Update button. Nothing seems to change in monstersmile.gif until an Update button is clicked.

We are having problems getting real time shipping with Fedex domestically, anyone else have that problem? We have had to set up Custom shipping...also, what do you do for international shipping - real time?

thanks,

TotalBliss-

Robert is correct. I believe you are not hitting update, because I was able to put in a weight of under a pound with no problems at all. If you do have more troubles with this, give tech support a call at 800-353-6582 so that we can work through it and see where you are getting hung up.

Cowgirl-

The fedex problem is now resolved. You can put back the real-time shipping methods that you had on there before.

Thanks! biggrin.gif

International real time shipping is not available for FedEx...do you ship International?

Any help is appreciated...

I know FedEx is back up, but I have lost 10 -20 orders when it was down...so am leery of going back to real time and really need International to be offered by monstercommerce.

anyone else?

thanks

I am leery also. We lost around 15 orders (thank god some customers emailed and called so we were able to sell to them).
I have never been a big fan of Fedex and this just gives us the opportunity to leave them out.
There is no way a lot of sites could afford to have that happen again, so I can see a lot of people dropping Fedex.
Back to weight under 1 pound. Almost all of our products are under a pound and we just enter .01 or .3, etc. You always have to remember to hit update, it gets me sometimes also.

When FedEx changes their API we work to integrate asap... but there is usually a little down-time... It would be nice if Fed Ex would tell us before doing it.

Yeah, FedEx should have some type of mailing list. It really shows how much they care about their customers. FedEx is all about money, they won't do anything that will cost them money, but will do everything to gain money.
I am sorry to those who like FedEx, but you have got it lucky if you have a good FedEx center near you. I have talked to a lot of people and have heard nothing but bad about the customer service and delivery problems, etc.
And I am not sure anymore how they are any better than UPS or USPS. Except for maybe having your own FedEx account can be convenient.
But, in the mean time, how can we take the chance that they won't change again without notifying you first, and than we lose orders, customers, and money again. I would rather put a custom shipping option in that customers must request FedEx if they want it, no real time FedEx.
