I have been trying to set up a template and mail merge via data port for my shipping labels. The Problem I am having is when the shipping address is diffdifferentn the billing address.
If I use the billing address and they want it shipped to a didifferentlace the label will be wrong. If I set set the default to the shipping address Data port does not populate the shipping fields ( in the csv export ) if the billing and shipping address are the same. So the result is the MS Word fields are blank.
I am wondering if anyone else is trying to do this and how you are getting it done. There is an " If xxxx is blank then use" ooption But I have not ffiguredout how to use a different field I can specify the text I want but not a data field.
Thanks Brian

I am doing a workaround right now for printing packing slips (gift receipts). How I am doing it is exporting my orders from DataPort into Trueship format, then doing the mail merge (see MS Help for this). The problem I had with the basic and 3.x export is it would make each product a separate row, so when I placed into mail merge, it would treat each product as a separate order.
Many of our customers purchase multiple products and send gifts, so that was no good. Whereas the Trueship export contains the data I need to populate my MS Word template. (shipping_address, quantity, productid#, product_description, shipping_method, etc.).
However, what MC should really do is create a parallel functionality within the admin panel to print packing slips as well as invoices.
