<taking a page out of Bridman's book...>

Anyone interested in forming a Massachusetts or New England monstersmile.gif Commerce User Group? I've been thinking about starting one for some time now. I know of a couple of Monter Store owners in MA (www.saucestore.com is one that comes to mind) so maybe we can together and discuss things like:
software, graphics, shipping, payment processing etc.

We could invite new/potential store owners to come the meeting and get an idea what their in for! ohmy.gif

Let me know if you're interested.

whistling.gif Yeah and we might be able to pick up a few new customers and get them in own our associate accounts.

I think we as MonsterCommerce store users are the greatest advertising and marketing they have and if we can get to gether in an area and meet with potiential store owners we can get them sold on using MonsterCommerce.

I am located in Connecticut and would be interested in attending if it were a weekend or night time event in Mass. or surrounding area. Keep me informed please.

Geez - another post I missed... sorry for the delay in responding guys! I would definately be interested in a User Group. We're located about 30 min south of Boston.

Also, Captain - I can't find that User Groups forum... I think the link got screwed up when the URL changed happy.gif Also, I looked around and must be missing it cause I don't see any of the forum sections that mention user groups. whistling.gif

I'll have Ultra create one again...

Thanks Ryan! monstersmile.gif's probably gonna end up with a user group in all 50 states because of this forum! biggrin.gif
ForumAdmin
Forum created and moved to the new category.

A few suggestions to help organize this program and get it going. It would help if each user group had an 'organizer' or 'leader' that could moderate the group's own forum. I could easily set this up pending the approval of Captain. The purpose behind this would be to allow that 'leader' to effectively organize meetings and respond to users in that forum (it would be difficult for us to moderate it entirely in my opinion). Additionally, I would highly suggest reviewing how Macromedia has their user groups setup... they seem to be highly effective:
http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/usergrou...a_usergroup.cfm

Furthermore, I'll create a cool graphic for users to post on their website if they actively participate in a MCUG. smile.gif

Hopefully this will get you guys off to a good start. biggrin.gif

Best of luck!

Thanks Ultrashock! I'm sure we all appreciate your assistance in this matter biggrin.gif

So who's in for starting the User Group? Let's light this candle....

ULT: I'm in Cohasset...

How about one of the the casino's in CT???
saxongifts
Great Idea!

I'll be there. Perhaps people can respond with a good time. I'm flexible and can do days, nights and weekends.

Foxwoods is closer so it gets my vote.

Best,
Brian

Weekends are best for me, but if you guys settle on something during the week dont worry about me.
ultimatekeychains
I would be interested in Foxwoods... Although I'm extremely busy I would definate try to make it. Is someone going to head up the user group? We should probably kick up a little informative website and try to find other new england based monstersmile.gif clients.

Too bad you all don't live in Oregon. I have monthly poker parties that I could invite monstersmile.gif pals to. Ah well, I guess I will be the lone monstersmile.gif man at this weekends party, LOL, more money for me! (as in my friends aren't real good at poker) wink.gif
ultimatekeychains
Haha... yeah well I'm not too good at poker either.... except when it comes to bluffing and getting the whole table to fold cool.gif I'm sure your not the only Oregon monstersmile.gif client. I'd expect atleast a small group to form all around as more people join monstersmile.gif and existing clients join the forums.
Strapworks.com
Yeah, eventually there probably will be more Oregon people showing up.
And as far as Poker, you're either good or you're lucky. I had a friend at last months poker game who won it all on his first time playing. We play No Limit Texas Hold-em, fun game. This weekend I think its going to be 16 people.
Anyway, back to the subject, I think a group get together of monstersmile.gif people in the same area can be very beneficial. I think the best thing is to talk about state regulations and maybe how to get past or figure out some problems of running a business in a certain state.
ultimatekeychains
If everyone else is too busy to get a New England Area User Group rolling I will consider doing after the 4.0 launch and the holiday season. cool.gif
dzielski
Yes, that may be better. Others?
saxongifts
I'm free anytime to get together.

As far as organizing a website etc., maybe monstersmile.gif will offer some webspace or perhaps create their own page list User Groups?
Captain
I am happy to have our design team work on this... do you mind waiting a few days since we are knee deep in 4.0? stuart.gif
ultimatekeychains
No rush at all Captain. 4.0 is the top priority for both you and all us clients too cool.gif
saxongifts
Capt.

Same goes for me. Direct any and all resouces to 4.0! I'd love to have my store 4.0 and "Googled" by the time of the Thanksgiving to Christmas rush. In fact I'd even consider paying extra to make it so... happy.gif
