In order to supplement our sales, we do festivals and trade shows. Mostly this involves Oktoberfests, Alpine Fests and other German ethnic gatherings. You’d be surprised how well you can do in one weekend. The problem has been accepting credit cards. People tend to part with money faster if done via a plastic card . I thought there would be an easy way to tie into the web-based credit authorization while on the road but there wasn’t. One could use a knuckle-buster and authorize the sales after the fact but it’s just too risky.

After months of research and dealing with Paymentech, I finally found a service that might be of interest to others in the Community. Paymentech has a service that can allow you to authorize orders over the phone (or cell phone if there’s no land line). We use it and it’s great. We can setup a stand in a field in New England and process orders without problems.

Just a thought I’d share this tool to all of you as it’s helped us out a lot.
