Multi them being one store front xyz trading company distinct areas under the store that would justify slightly different background graphics and button themes. (I am not sure if the button themes are even possible) exp areas
china home decor/ south america decor/ etc. Any good ideas or ref sites are always appreciated.

Thanks in advance Duane

well it depends - will they all fall under the theme of 'home decor'?

There is a few theories about this, one is to build a very large site with different sections(think amazon). This creates a site with many many pages(google seems to love large sites) and also lets everything fall under a brandable domain name. Probaly the best solution for long term success IMO.

The other theory is to not put all your eggs in one basket, spread them out over a few domains. This way if the SE's get weird and drop your site, you will still have other sites that are ranking and bringing in income(hopefully). You can also use the individual sites to leverage the others.

If it was me though, I would pick a nice short brandable domain and keep all themes under one domain. I would split the themed sections up and place them each on a subdomain and market each themed section as a different website- But I would keep You really have to be careful how you link things together though.

If you can provide some more info on the themes and size of site you are considering we can offer more suggestions.
