Out there are many LiveChat but there is one "FREE" and very good, you dont have to pay no more to "LivePerson" or "DigiChat"
You can download it from here www.typicity.com

Sounds great! Live support can definitely help increase sales and make customers feel as if they can trust you completely (not like they shouldn't).
Also, FREE can't be beat.
Keep em comin!

Already signed up, setup and tested. I just need a nice way to drop it on my site. Any tips on getting it to appear under my cart or right side banner area?

Hey ultimate,
they let you change the images. I have no clue how to put it in the right side, but you can always get away with putting it up at top. I made a quick example. Something like this.

Nice idea... I'm in the process of a redesign so I guess I'll fit it in my new header. Thanks Ewestforth.

Cool tool gentlemen! Have any of you tried this software out besides Cloningpc? I've already downloaded it, but as yet, not placed it on my site. Am excited about trying it out.
Am I understanding Ultimate, et al, in that currently the only place to drop this in is under the header portion of our site?
Please forgive my naivity, but am not a programmer, and sometimes have a hard time figuring out "where" to put the coding.
Any kind suggestions?
Thank you SO much for the FREEBIE Cloningpc. This forum is so cool.
Sincerely,
Beverly

you could also put this on under or on top of the left menu.
for an example take a look at my site,
Westforth Sports.
I put my it under the menu, but now am considering moving it to the top.

Well i decided to take this off.
I realised that once a customer goes to checkout an order with this thing active they will get a nonsecure error. I am a firm believer that that error message loses sales, and the whole point of this is to make more sales through support. So it kind of defeats its purpose. If anyone figures out a way around this let me know because i would really like something similar to this on my site.

Ewestforth -
Sorry I missed it. I'll keep your latest post in mind when placing it on my site. I know what you mean by error messages on a site - my Stats show I've got about 40% of 404.asp errors on click through. Any idea how I can fix that? (I'll also post that at another topic since this isn't the proper place).
Your site looks good BTW! Very good layout. Still, may try to place the Live Chat on the site and play around with it.
Have a great Friday!!1

On our site we have temporarily setup a right banner ad that goes to a custom page with the link. You lose some functionality but still get the general purpose of free live chat with customers who initiate it.

Another problem about this program is how it takes up space on my taskbar. I wish the program could minimize to the tray and popup everytime a support request is made by a customer. It may sound picky but i already have so many windows open at the same time that another one which has to be always open is a pain. I have sent this suggestion to them, maybe they will include it in the next version

Ultimate,
I took a peek at your site and I see what you mean with your method of including a live chat area for your customers. I am planning on revamping my site or maybe tweeking it a bit is a better term, so it is possible that I'll do the live chat arena over the weekend.
How has it worked for you, or is it too early to tell? Any hangups with page loading, etc.?
Do you think this would work as a pop up window? I just thought of how MC does theirs with the pop up. Or are pop ups generally a no-no or maybe seen as an aggravation by customers?

I have visited all of your sites (those that participated in this discussion) and notice that you are not using the live chat feature. I assume it was causing problems.
What was your experience with the free typicity software?
I temporarily set it up on my site and went to my secure pages without any problems (no secure/unsecure warnings). Did you all encounter other problems?
Any info is appreciated.

The only reason i took it off was because of the unsecure message.
Do you mind sharing how you managed to get rid of that?

I didn't do anything special. I pasted the code they provide into my custom navigation bar >> site html/navigation bar.
I went to my secure pages and didn't have any problems. I was using the default icon typicity provides.
Is there something that I would need to do to actually use the chat feature that might cause a security warning? If not, I reccomend returning to their site, copying the code and trying it again.
