Hello-How do I change my home page title? I cannot see how to edit anything but the store name.
Top Sellers-how are the products listed on Top Sellers chosen? My Top Sellers are still showing Valentines items which are obviously not my best sellers right now!

shannonr,
I really don't have an answer to either of your questions, but I do have a couple of comments to make that would help drive up sales. I've only been up for a couple of weeks on MC. I decided to display the Top Sellers box because at my old site I had a flag next to these type of items throughout my catalog and noticed that it did significantly drive up sales for those items. After using the Top Sellers box, I see that ten products are just not going to be sufficient and that having them on the left bar and not next to the item are not a great call to action. So, I'm going to keep the box, but add the flags back to the individual items.
I originally came up with this idea while looking at a print catalog. Most catalogs put an icon next to Top Selling, Exclusive or Value items. I figured if it works for them, it'll work for me...and it did. I have not been able to embed an actual icon into the item description, so I use the above words in red. So, far I've got my Value items flagged. For Value items, I also draw attention to them by ending them in .99 instead of .95. I tried putting these notations in the item name, but you cannot use html tags there. You have to use the description field and then if you want the customer to see the flag on the category page you have to set columns to "1".
Hope you find this information of some use. I look forward to learning you the Top Sellers are generated.

Well, I've seen other sites that are hosted by MC that have long title tags so I know it must be an option somewhere.

Are you asking about having descriptive text on the title bar? Go to Site Settings. Enter text in the Site Description box under the Site Text tab.

Kay,
I am pretty sure that this field is for the meta tag description.
Shannonr,
I think what Wizard is saying is to add on to the name. I just changed mine from "Momentous Occasion" to "Momentous Occasion - Children's Birthday Party Ideas". It took it, but I'll have to wait to be crawled again to see how it actually shows up. I can't imagine that it wouldn't take the the whole thing unless the it is just too long in length. BTW, thanks for the tip, Wizard.
Also, be aware that the google link changes based on what type of page is displayed in the search results. If it's an item page (for a one column format) the link is "Item Name - Item Number". If it's a category page the link is "Category - Sub-Category". Using the site:www.yourdomain.com in the google search box is a good way to review all your indexed pages for what information displays upon search.

Well, if you add on to the name, then I think when people order, their order shows up as that particular name, doesn't it? So if I said "Thesmilebox get well gifts, care packages etc." then isn't that how their order appears-which is rather strange to have a site name appear that long?
I still cannot figur e out why my top sellers are so out of date.

shannonr,
You are correct, it does appear exactly that way in the order email, with your blurb after it. As it's just in the from box and it doesn't look bad I'll keep it if it helps me at all in the rankings. Or, maybe there is another answer to this question that we just aren't aware of yet...

Wizard,
Thanks for the extra warning. I'll post any other instances of "odd" usage, but I think the benefits so far outweigh the costs.

I said I'd come back and post the results of adding a keyword blurb after my company name. I was crawled by Google again on April 1st and it definitely helped me. If I search for that exact combination of keywords I'm now on page 7 which is an improvement by 5 pages. It actually looks really good to have these keywords next to my company name - this is how my previous provider listed me. It really makes it pop out at you since it's bolded. Of course, being on page 7 I'd need it to flash in neon, too, but I'm going to see where else I can fit in some more instances of some of these words.
I've got my party themes listed under my categories as; pirate, dinosaur, garden tea, etc. Do you think it's to much to stick party after each one? I don't want to drive my customers crazy, but I'd love to use it to get my ranking up if you don't think it's overkill.
