Full Version: Variants
Our products have eleven sizes, and three colors to choose from. Can anyone explain to me how I would set this up?

I have this currently set up on my website with a different product but the concept.

When you are in the Product Editor, click on the variants tab at the top and set it up like this.
Under the Variant Group Name type in ' Pick Color' click on the insert key!
Under the Variant Group Name type in ' Pick Size' click on the insert key!
Under the Edit Variants do this for size
1. Select the Pick Size group from the Group pull down list.
2. Type in your description size like '8'
3. Include surcharge if the price increases for each size! (just the difference)
4. Type in the Part Number Extension like '8'
5. Change the sort order if necessary!
6. Check the Display Surcharge if you want it to show the increased price as the change it.
7. Click the Update Variants button.
8. Repeate the above test for each size.
Under the Edit Variants do this for the colors
1. Select the Pick Color group from the Group pull down list.
2. Type in your description size like 'Blue or Brown'
3. Type in the Part Number Extension like 'Blue' or shorten it to 'B'
5. Change the sort order if necessary!
6. Click the Update Variants button.
7. Repeate the above test for each color.
When they add it to there cart depending on how you should see something like this. (Widget,Size8,Blue)

Little addition to CBhale's post. I copied this from the reply I left on your other post.
First, start off by making those Variant Categories.
Click "Inventory", than "Variant Group Editor", Add your variant groups
Than add your product
You click "Inventory", than "Product Editor", than "Add Product".
Add all the information and click "Add".
Than tabs will show up at the top and you click "Variants"
You select your Variant Group (such as Choose Size or Choose Color) and enter in the appropriate size or color for them to choose from, than click "Add Variant", you do so again until you get all your variants entered, than just close the page and its all done.
Its actually pretty simple once you get going, just a little time consuming.
