Full Version: Hiding prices on a Wholesale Site
MonsterSmallBusiness Forums > MonsterCommerce > How do I?
robert
This question is for a second site that we might add in the next couple of months. It will focus on the wholesale market.

My question: I want to show all of my products w/o the prices, except for those people who have proven to me that they are resellers and have been given a login username and password.

Thus, if you come to this site, you will see great products but will not know what my wholesale clients paid for them.

My wholesale clients will log in and see the same products, but with prices.

The current login system does not do what I am asking. Is this something that can be done in 4.0? I do not recall anyone asking for this feature, but I'm sure I am not the first to raise the issue.

You can understand that your local gift store owner does not want you to know that she paid $15 for something that she is charging $32 for!

Thanks!

Robert,
I'm a little on the same wave-length. I've got two sites that, at this point, are entirely too similar for good search engine rankings. I could diversify the product selection of newest site - or develop it toward a wholesale market.

It is my understanding that I could develop a password for my wholesale customers to obtain, after they provide me with their resell tax ID, i.e. register - After logging on then, they could obtain my wholesale prices. I need to research this further.

Robert and Birdsupplies-

This will be a feature in v4.0. You will use the call feature of the product in conjuction with the price levels for each product. The price level that your customer is on will then reflect in the price of the product once he/she has logged in. Essentially, the price level will override the call message, which is not currently the case. cool.gif

Excellent! That will do the trick.

Excellent! That will do the trick.

In the meantime this is what I have done:

Set two different price levels up:

One for Default pricing (already there)
One for Wholesale customers - set this up as a price level

Then, go to your customer admin and find the customer that you want to be on the wholesale pricing, and change their price level to wholesale customer. Click Update.

Then when you create a product , edit a product, or add a new product click the advanced option tab on the product. Insert the price you want to charge your wholesale customers for the item and click the update button.

Then tell your wholesale customer that they must log in to see their price, otherwise they are going to see the price of your regular customers

This has worked out great for me except for monstersmile.gif has a bug with the price levels working with the quantity discount even though you have it checked as not to.

Let me know if this works for you.

thanks
