We are in the process of adding our merchant account to our site and the doors are about to open. Yea!!!

The site still needs lots-o-work, but it's a start. Here's my problem.

The name of our site is www.coolscrubdepot.com , I have been told, read and/or assumed that using some of our keywords in the "title" section of our site will help with our rank. The only place I could find on the site to change the "title" was in the company name area. So, we now have "Cool Nursing Scrubs! We offer Great Scrubs and Great Service!" as our company name and the "title" of our site for the engines. First of all, am I being a bad boy doing this and will I get spanked by the search engines?

If the above is cool, then it creates another problem.

While testing the merchant account, the emails generated by the site are from Cool Nursing Scrubs! We offer Great Scrubs and Great Service!" Obviously not the name of our business, but it's what I told the software our name is. Is there a fix for this? After reading some of the posts here, I find Order Emails are not editable. Can I enter my catch phrase into HTML for the page and the company name where it belongs? Or do I have to use our company name as our title and be done with it?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks. cool.gif

In regards to your first problem. That will not help or hurt you...I believe the first place google looks for keywords is in your title, so that helps you have if you have

keyword, keyword, keyword by Cool Nursing Scrubs

In regards to your second problem

You can add your slogan to the html header or footer by going here:
Orders>>>Orders HTML/Email system....click on Order emails header. Here you can add your slogan for your customers to view when they order. It will show up in their email invoice.

In regards to that long line of text showing up do this:
Site Information>>>Site Wide Setting and click the last tab called site text. Then you will see a field called Order Email Title. You can put what you want to appear as the From field to your customers in here.

Hope this helps.

No Problem!

If you have any other trouble, just post someone usually has an answer or a work around. smile.gif

There is a separate field for the order confirmation email title. It's in the same menu as the company name, just a few fields below labeled "Order Email Title".

If it's blank, it will pull from the company name field.

If you fill that field with your company name (or whatever you would like on your order alert emails) then it will stop pulling from the company name field and the Order Email Title will be in all order confirmation emails.

I hope this helps!

Captain ~

does that order email title override the store name when the store name is sent to the merchant processor too? -or- Is only the store name sent to the processor?

I think that is important as it will be what shows up on people's credit card statements. If the search engine friendly name is what goes to the processor regardless of the email header choice, there is certainly a risk of creating charge disputes or inquiries if not just looking kindof silly.

This has nothing to do with monstersmile.gif whatsoever. Your merchant processor decides what shows up on the statement. I think they refrence the company name on the business check..lol

Krazy, I wonder if that varies from processor to processor. If I log into the Orbital Gateway, my online access portal for Paymentech which does my processing and look at the details of a transaction, It shows the MC store name.

Krazy, if you want we can experiment. Buy something from our site and let me know how the charge appears on your credit card. w00t.gif

Just kidd'n
