I am using Easy Thumbnails which is a great program but it won't do .gif files for some reason. This was a free program and is easy to use and great but I need something like it to do both gif and jpg. FREE if possible like easy thumbnails, but will consider other programs for a fee.

The problem with free is that you have to pay the rights to anything that will access .GIF format files.

That is why most of your FREE or Low Cost Graphic programs can't or don't support .GIF format files. It is my understanding that license is quite pricy!

At any rate if you insist on FREE, you might want to start looking for file format convertors. Do you have access to PhotoShop or simular programs. Most of those programs have the conversion feature.

It doesn't have to be Free, but inexpensive would be nice or we are just going to go with a full blow program like Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop Sorry, I should have stated this more clearly

Just something that I found.

The best one out there is acdsee. Believe it or not you can also use Dreamweaver and Fireworks to create thumbnails as well. Download the PhotoAlbum v2.1 extension from Macromedia.com to do that. All of these programs have free trials.

I was just scanning through some old posts and saw this one. I have been using ACDsee but have not been able to figure out how to get it to convert images to thumbnails In groups. I have been doing it one at a time. Am I overlooking something?
