Tom from http://www.golfstockpile.com/ submitted an excellent idea yesterday.

He recommended that MC implement a (certificate) program for clients that provide their customers excellent service... for clients that have been operating an honest e-business for a specified amount of time.

I am going to be contacting him this morning to discuss his ideas further...

Here is what I believe he is getting at in a nutshell...

Customer Service Awards etc help build credibility. From what I gather... his idea was to have a "Monster Merchant 5 star Rating" certificate for those who show excellent service. It would work much like a security certificate except when you clicked on the icon... it would pop-up a small window that showed how long you have been in business... and that you were recognized as a legitimate, trustworthy, secure business.

I like the idea and will begin working on implementation if everyone thinks it is a good idea.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

I think its a great idea. Its a bonus for all of us companies that pride ourselves on our customer service.
Its also hard sometimes to get customers to gather that you are a legitimate, honest business that works hard for them.

I think its a great idea! Having a "Monster 5 Star" seal on our website would just help in making customers feel more confident and comfortable with purchasing. Where do I sign!

Sounds interesting, I'd like to see the rating scale.

Ranking would be great, it really would make the customers feel safe in a way.

I agree. My previous store was on Yahoo! and I really think people responded to the fact that our store was rated 5 starts.

How would we go about getting this rating monstersmile.gif thou? Would it be via a online rating form that customers could use x days after their order hit completed status or something?

I like the idea of MonsterCommerce ratings as well as awards. I think that stores that have been with MonsterCommerce for a certain period of time that fulfill certain requirements should get the Master monstersmile.gif award. What do you guys think?

I would like to see this happen. It will build a certain legitimacy to what we are doing and anything to help increase the traffic I am up for..

Great idea and a lot cheaper then getting a BBB certificate for the site.
They want way too much money. wink.gif

I think that is a great idea! It would help customers know who was extremely reliable, and been around for a while.

Anything that will help differentiat between the good guys and the bad is a good thing in my book. Can't wait to see the ideas on this.

Hi

While on the surface it is great, especially for stores that have been around for a while and have built up a good customer base, it does in effect punish new sites and sites with slow sales, because once the consumer knows that "Good monstersmile.gif sites have a 5 star rating" then the new sites are left in a void and sites that sell more slowly don't get the feedback required to meet the volume that is usually required to make a rating valid.

This would have to be carefully considered within the rating system.

Also what is the consumer awareness of monstersmile.gif, sure a 5 Star rating from Yahoo / AOL etc has weight, the consumer knows these sites, while among merchants monstersmile.gif may be well known, will a Mosnter 5 Star rating come across with equal weight, or just get viewed as a gimmick....

I think it's a lot more involved than just throwing it up, if the rating system was run within a monstersmile.gif Directory / Mall then this might be a better way to use it, especially as new and low traffic sites can be identified as such

Cheers

Chris,

This is excellent fedback. There are several benefits to the rating system... but as you say, it must be rolled out carefully to ensure that it proves beneficial (builds credibility) without damaging the newer stores.

We have been working hard on the conceptialization of the Marketplace... I am leaning towards the www.dealtime.com model. Not necessarily their pricing structure... but the method in which the site is laid out.

It is my thinking that we build out a marketplace that is SE friendly... the end goal is to earn more business for our clients while building the MonsterCommerce name.

If anyone has ideas regarding which marketplace model they would like to see implemented please post!

Your ideas count... clients have a meaningful say in the future develop of MonsterCommerce Markeplace and MonsterCommerce as a company.

Thanks again Chris. I know you have a great relationship with Steph... we'll have to stop by next time we are in Thailand.

I agree with everything in the two above statements. I feel confident that monstersmile.gif will come up with a plan that will be thought out before actually being released including some sort of testing/feedback time before release and will be beneficial to all monstersmile.gif Clients.

I know that the better the Clients look the better monstersmile.gif looks , creating a great long-term relationship.

My 2 senselessness!
