Full Version: Quantity Price Breaks
MonsterSmallBusiness Forums > MonsterCommerce > How do I?
rednil
So we just started stetting up our store. We sell our items at different prices via break points (ie: 12 items are $5.00, 24 are $4.50, 36 are $4.00...etc.). It would be nice to include that within one item.

I am currently using a work around where I am making subcategories within subcategories, basically showing the same item 4 to 5 times (once for each price break).

If anyone has a better solution, or knows of a feature that i have overlooked, please post a reply, or message me, or even email me. I'm just baffled...thanks. blink.gif

Hi,

Have you tried quantity discounts (in the "Advanced" product editor). It is one of the tabs located at the top.

Hello -

Krazy is right on with this one. smile.gif Once you create and save a Product you will see some additional tabs. Under the Quantity Discounts tab you can set the quantity ranges and discount from the base price for those quantities.

Also, to have the Quantity Discounts display within a table within the Product Detail on your site, go to Site Information - Site Wide Settings - Site Layout tab and set 'Show Quantity Discount Tables' to YES.

Hope that helps!

Hey wow! w00t.gif

Good call guys. That worked out perfect.

Thanks for the help..I'll probably have more questions later. This is kind of tough to swallow being a designer, and not a programmer.

Thanks for the help guys.

That worked out perfect.

blink.gif I'm sure I will have other questions, I know where to go to now.

Hey Rednil -
I wanted to check out your site and i clicked on your link and i think you may have a comma in front of your com instead of a period. This causes your page not to come up. Just wanted to point it out smile.gif

Thanks Gupp!

blink.gif I'm a little slow today.

I have another quetion actually, regarding the quantity thing. For my final quantity, it is always infinite (ie: 48+, or 100+). Is there a way around entering an end quantity?

Also, since everyone here has been helpful....I can't upload any images through the store editor. It keeps saying they are the wrong format. But they are all .gif, or .jpg.

I'm no retard with images, it's what I do, so is there maybe a certain type of gif or jpeg that they need to be, or maybe a certain size?

thanks
Sunshine

There isn't an 'infinity' entry, we normally enter 99999999 or something to that effect. smile.gif

This error normally occurs when the name of directory on your machine that contains the images you are uploading matches the name of your site. Try renaming the image directory on your local machine and see if that addresses the issue. If not, give us a call in Tech Support or create a ticket through the Tech Support link in your store Admin panel, we'll straighten it out!

Once again...you guys are awesome.

Thanks for the tip Sunshine! The 99999999 trick works, it says (48 - Or More) now.

I still can't get the Image upload to work out, is there a way to get an IP to just ftp them on?

If not, I will just make a phone call. (Automated customer service pages make me sick sick.gif )

Hi Rednil -

Does the directory on your local machine have a period ( . ) or space in the name? If so I would remove those and try again. There is not a way to FTP images to your site so if that doesn't work please give Tech Support a call at the number below so we can find out the specifics of your machine (ie. Browser version, operating system, etc).

Thanks!

rednil - this feature is located under the advanced edit - under the tab Quantity discount tab. you can also make up variants for each product.

I currently have a retail-only site, but am toying with the idea of making a duplicate of it, with pricing and info tailored to our wholesale-only customers.

Is there a way, for each item we carry, to enter set prices based on quantity ordered, rather than a "discount amount" per quantity ordered?

As an example, I have the following quantity breaks on a particular item:

qty = 1, price = $16.95
qty = 2-10, price = $12.95/ea.
qty = 11 or more, price = $9.95/ea.

Is the only way to input these breaks into our site by specifying the "discount amount" field under advanced options?? Is there a way (somewhere, anywhere) to just input the quantites and actual prices associated with each quantity? The reason I ask is because I have a couple thousand products. It'd be far easier to be able to import the finished data we already have than to manually calculate the amount discounted from the qty=1 price for each qty break we have for every item we sell.

What am I missing here?

Thanks happy.gif
