Quite some time ago, I posted problems with UPS estimated shipping costs being based on pounds but not on package dimensions. eg: a two pound item that is 58" long should be returning a high shipping cost to the site as it does to us on our separate UPS shipping manager. Instead, the customer gets the lowest cost based on pounds, not dimensions, to his/her zip code. This results in shipping costs being off by many many times that. eg: $6 versus $75. The customers are outraged that we're trying do something shady.... consequently the individual items have been changed from three pounds to 70 pounds (individual example) in order to reach the correct shipping cost.

One user stated we should b e using the "dimensional weight" checkbox but I've never found that. Does it exist? I need to add more oversized products and dread going through this again. Any help?

Whereas dimensions are part of the options you'd get if you manually quoted shipping on the UPS website, this feature was not part of and never has been a part of version 4.x. The good news is that dimensional weight is an available feature of version 7. Up until you migrate, I suggest simply increasing your products weight appropriately.
