Hello,
I am starting a new online biz and I am stuck with what to do with shipping. Here is an overview, I use 3 different manufactures that are in three different places (1 in TN, 1 in TX, and 1 in SC) now I am lost as to how to figure out shipping costs? Since I am using 3 different "warehouses" I cannot do realtime shipping correct? I think the best thing to do is to ship by weight. But some items are huge and require a freight charge, and they will (depending on the order) come from multiple places.. Please help me get a idea of what you folks do and how best to approach this problem.

Thank you

Yeah...sorry to say that you cannot set different shipping options now.

Goood News: This is being addressed in v4.1 allowing us to do a lot of different things with shipping, including multiple warehouses, and hopefully shipping profiles. I believe the Devs already have it on their list.

In the mean time, I would suggest setting shipping by weight as you said. The hard part about this , is that you would need to make sure that you are charging your customers, the same amount that you are be charged.

I am going to play with shipping a little for you and see if I come up with some tricks for you.

Hi taltos1 -

One option that some other stores have done is to use the Product Variants to add additional shipping charges for specific products. You could create your baseline shipping cost options as custom rules by weight. Then for a product that requires shipping charges above the baseline cost you could add a Variant labeled something like 'Additional Shipping Charges Apply' and then enter the extra shipping charge within the Surcharge field. Then when a customer purchases that product they will be charged the cost defined within the shipping option as well as the charge associated with the variant.

Hope that helps!

Thank you. I will check that out.
