How do I put some color on the horizontal bar (home, about, store, contact us) on my site? I can't seem to figure out what that bar is called.

Are you talking about the horizontal navigation bar? I don't think you can change anything but the font and its size and color.

I hope that some day we can have a horizontal navigation bar that allows us to use Custom html and/or Default HTML. We could even select if we want Custom to come first or last, as is the case with the left size column and the Top of Page area.

Furthermore, I hope that the default horizontal bar can be editable much like the right side links. You could call your home page "home," I could call it "Store," etc. We could add a Returns or Policies or Shipping link if you wanted, too. Perhaps others would add a "Specials" link to their navigation bar. Imagine the possibilities!

If we could upload custom html we could have a horizontal navigation bar that is graphics based, too. I'm sure others would use this for things that have nothing to do with navigation. It would be great for anything you wanted to place on every page.

Just some late night dreaming!

Hi Mark -
If you use the default Horizontal Navigation bar the only options you have to change the appearance are the font size, type, and color. You can do this under Site Layout - Site Wide Colors Fonts & Sizes - Site Wide Fonts tab - Hor. Nav. Bar (Mouse Over and Normal) options.

Hi Richard -
I think you have some great ideas for future enhancements, thanks for posting!!

I think the Custom HTML is definitely a necessity!!! I was trying to edit that last night and I just realized that this is not possible.

Please include this in the next upgrade!!

Actually I was wrong ... I was just on the phone with MC Support and the gentleman told me that we can insert our own custom HTML instead of the basic text format that it defaults to.

If you put the HTML in the TOP OF PAGE EDITOR supposedly it will work. I haven't tried it yet, but I'll let ya know how it goes later tonight!

Megan,

Is there way to remove the leftover space when you turn the horizontal nav bar off?

Look at this and please let me know.
