Someone told me that designing with tables is an old school practice. CSS coding has replaced tables because it has cleaner coding and is better for SEO. Is this true? Are tables really a thing of the past? I see tables on many big time sites...or is this person correct. Is everyone accomplishing their looks with CSS tricks instead of tables?

Hey Tahj...tables are history in terms of web standards. I have a feeling that it'll be a long time before they vanish though. Once you start playing with CSS, it becomes pretty clear and fairly easy. CSS also creates much cleaner code because the structure and design is separated from the content.
