Full Version: Discount Codes Not Computing Accurately
MonsterSmallBusiness Forums > MonsterCommerce > Using MonsterCommerce Software

We tried to create a discount code of 10 percent off for a selected category. The discount given is only about 9 percent. Yes, all of the products selected are in the discounted category.

I know there is a long history of problems with the discount codes, and for this reason we have not tried to use them for over a year. (In fact, is was little things like this that led us to develop newer stores using a different cart.) I thought the problem would have been fixed by now, though, now that NS was in charge.

Has anyone else had this problem lately? If so, is there a work around?

No one?

I guess the bugs have not been fixed. Are they working in V7?

Discounts are calculated correctly in version 7. In the specific case you mentioned, it will take the discount off of each product, instead of the order total. It will show the discounted price before the product is even added to the cart, so your customers will know how much they are saving right from the start.

Mcforum,

We had an issue in the beginning that the discount code did not work when we have used Cost X markup in a category. After disabling this feauture the code is working fine!

We don't use cost mark up so that's not explaining the problem, but thanks. We have had these calculation problems for as long as we've been with monstersmile.gif (almost since the beginning). This has been listed as a known problem, but I don't think they have a public list of known problems anymore.

Thanks for the link. None of these known issues explains what we see...a straightforward miscalculation of a percentage.
