I am in need of a product export. I am on a mac and I can't figure out how to get an export. I tried to use the data port thing but it requires Windows. It use to be so easy to do this with the previous version. PLEASE HELP ME! Any advice would be really welcome.

We are working on having DataPort be compatible with a Mac... but this is many months out.

One thing you could do is buy a Windows emulator. This would probably make DataPort work on your machine then.

Another option is to get custom programming. You may want to speak with John in custom programming to have something quick and easy built in. It may cost even less then what a year's worth of DataPort would.

The reason we did away with the create export file feature was that it was not a robust part of our software at all. It was "easy to use" from a customer stand point, but just the nature of what it was, it was pretty inefficient and required a lot of system resources if you had a lot of products, orders, etc. We also had two solutions doing the same thing (or I should say two solutions, one of which did what the other did, and much more, and did it more efficiently). That's why we stuck with DataPort.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this decision has caused. We had to go one route with this feature, and that was the best route to take.

Thanks for the feedback. You may also want to educate your tech support folks on the phone I talked to 2 people who shall remain nameless on the board who both told me that the dataport would work for me I have now lost 2 days and a lot of energy trying to make this work.
