Is there a way to give a discount once the order is placed? On occasion, I may decide to give a preferred customers a discount before I ship the product. Is this possible?
Strapworks.com
Has the order already been charged? If it has you will either have to refund the customer the discount amount or give them a gift certificate towards their next order.
If it hasn't been charged yet you will manually have to discount the order before charging, and than place in "Special Instructions" that the order was discounted.
I do not believe there is a way to change the order to reflect a discount in the pricing on the order itself.
One other way you could do this is to manually reenter the order in monstersmile.gif with the discount and delete the first order.
Somebody else may have more experience with this, we manually adjust orders for discounts that have been added after the order was placed.

Hi ladyg-

Yes, you can do this, actually. As strapworks stated, if you have accepted real time payment, you will have to refund the difference. However, you can change the price of each line item in the order. So, if you had a product that was 9 and you wanted to give a 25% discount, you could manually change the price of that product to 6.75 and it will update the total.

Hope this helps! biggrin.gif

Andy,

Can you guys add a "Manual Discount" option where we could just enter a dollar amount or percentage and have it recalculate instead of manually figuring a percent off for each item and then changing the price of each item? I know that we'd need to change the total in the merchant account before charging.

Also, it would be kind of cool if we could send authorize.net refunds and partial refunds through the admin panel without having to go to their site and type in all the info manually(pain in the butt). I'm not sure if this can be done though. blink.gif

I agree that integration of a payment gateway terminal for these things would be great. A 'charge' on authorizations, 'refund' etc... I just don't know if it's possible or practical.
