What should the top of page be used for, other than company logo and phone number?

We have used top of page HTML editor to have a text keyword rich paragraph next to company logo but I noticed that Google has indexed a lot of our product pages with a page description that is the same as top of page paragraph. This is despite those pages having their own titel and meta descriptions.

Should we remove this top of page text paragraph? You can see our site below:
