Maybe this is a dumb questions, but it just occurred to me that it would be cool to be able to read the V7 discussions to see what new customers (and vets who added a new store) are thinking and dealing with regarding the new cart. I'm not looking to add responses or posts, just to read how it's going. I don't really like bugging the pros for questions, I know ya'll are busy.

PS -I know I'm breaking the rules by even mentioning V7 in the V4 forum....

Really the new forums are just for clients that have v7 carts only. Most of the questions are just like the questions asked in here, how to do x, how to do y...

The main reason we have them separated into different sites is so there is no confusion between the two. In terms of viewing them though unfortunately the only way would be if you have a v7 cart. Really I wouldn't worry about it too much as when we start to get ready for migration we will be having plenty of info available for everyone to view and digest.

We were discussing this around the office yesterday. "You mean there is a v7 forum? How come we can't read it, I thought we could see what kind of issues people were having before we had to implement it ourselves" was the comment I got. My guess was that didn't want us to see the issues people were having and was probably trying to avoid the extra negativity that we usually give them about updates.

The ability to Read the forum would be nice, I can understand why you don't want us to Write in the forum, but come on, whats the big deal about us at least reading?

I guess that they want to treat us like mushrooms. Keep us in the dark and feed us the B/S they want us to see.

Hello agkits - if you go to the help section of the of your control panel you will see a link to the new forums.

Also for everyone else - The main reason we have decided that we do not want v4.x clients in the forums is we are constantly making changes to the software through multiple releases, one coming out in November as well as one coming hopefully early next year. Due to this, reading about what the software is now would be pointless as you will not be on this version of the software. As stated above when we get closer to migrations, we will have all the information that you will want to know about using the new software. Secondly the way the new forums are setup - there is no guest section for content that you can view, only a merchant status that allows you to view information and post information. So if we wanted to allow you to view the information you would also be able to post in these forums which we do not want due to the possible issues that can come up from confusing clients on that platform with information about the platform you are currently on.

Remember that the new forums is mainly used for another support channel and if you don't need support for that software, well you do not need to view that information.
