I have ornaments that I sell and I'd like to be able to offer them with a quanity discount on orders over 30 (actually, I want to be able to sell them at wholesale on quantities over 30). Does anyone sell a product at both wholesale and retail on their site? And if so, do you have two different products set up at two different price levels? Or do you have the capability to order at wholesale from the retail item? Does this make sense? And if so, can anyone point me to this on their site so that I can see how it looks on the site. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Renee,
We sell both wholesale and retail on our site. You do not have to have 2 different products at different prices; just use price levels.

We manually approve registrations and put wholesale (trade) accounts into a TRADE price level. When adding products, we take the inventory into Dataport and use formulas to calculate the retail price (what everyone sees on the site) and the various price levels. When that data is uploaded, unregistered users see one price, and registered users see their discounted price (after logging in of course).

Regarding the quantity discounts, it's applied regardless of the price level. For example, if you discount a product 5% for orders over 30, retail customers will pay your retail price - 5%, and wholesale customers will pay their wholesale price - 5%.

I hope that answers your question.
