I saw a reference to template programming. What I saw was apparently referals to template design services. Where can I find the basic templates and a guide on how to program them? I would like to do this myself.

There is no programming needed for the templates that they provide to you.


Just go to your admin panel>>>>Plug-ins>>>>Theme builder

Thanks Krazy, but I still want to know how to program the templates. After browsing a few posts here, it looks like some new features would be desireable.

I'm a Yahoo Store operator, and with Yahoo Stores, it's very common to modify the templates to customize things to our own liking. Also, I now have an image based on my present store appearance that I want to maintain.

Simple things like changing the appearance of the Price/Sale Price are reason enough for wanting to be able to control the templates. More likely, though, I would like to have direct control over much more than that.

Does anyone have an answer to my original question?

If I understand your question correctly, you can select one of the theme templates, save it as a different name, then modify it. Just as in Yahoo, you'll be modifying a copy, not the original. And, you don't have to use RHTML.

For example, select Site Layout>Button Theme Editor. You can add your custom buttons there. The reference manual provides excellent documentation on this (much better than Yahoo's, in my humble opinion).

I'm not sure exactly what your asking but all you have to do is design your site the way you want it then save it as a template. (custom buttons, fonts, custom html, function calls etc etc.) I suggest you take a look at the manual.
