Full Version: Stone Edge Integration

Was down at the shop last night helping out in shipping. If I'm at the shop, then it means they are VERY busy and probably getting back logged. Seems one of the stumbling blocks is the Stone Edge integration. Didn't know they'd taken that leap, altho' I'm the one that suggested they check it out.

I peeked at the interface just a bit. Looks nice. Also looks extremely intimidating for those that aren't database savvy. I tried doing a blind navigation thru it just to see if I could pick up something on intuition. Quite honestly, it didn't happen.

Not actually looking for help on it, at the moment. I'm more interested in hearing about how long it took those of you seeing this, and that have it, to get it implemented. Was it an arduous process? Big learning curve? How many products are you dealing with? Approx hrs before you were able to use it reliably? Things of that nature. I'm trying to see if there is someway to soften the impact of implementation on the staff. Which consists of the owner, 1 full time and 1 pt. And me. With the two regulars already working 14hr + per day.

The program is well worth the money and your time. The program is both a life-saver and a time saver. I highly recommend the program. It is really easy to learn and 99% of questions can be answered using the StoneEdge online knowledge base.

Ken,

I admit that it was intimidating at first, but if you put someone in charge and a few calls to tech support you should be up and running in NO TIME. I can say that the only reason that we do not have backlog is Stone Edge Order Manager

only reason we are backlogged is because we are taking in 3x the amount of orders per day before stoneedge... and our packer quit =(

other than that, 8 months ago I personally had to sit at the shipping computer at noon and sit there for 4 hours doing shipping labels, and whatnot.

Now, if I have to do it (because we are short staffed)... I sit down for 30 minutes and do all the labels (100+ packages)

Thanks StoneEdge

ps Kenny to answer your question: took me about 1 week throughly to set it up. That is of course I had to do other work, inventory $750k worth of products, etc etc. But now it seems to be running real smooth!

Thanks for the replies. Knowing how much you two (BnH and Nuriel) liked the software is one (two??) reasons I recommended it to the boss lady. Really didn't know they had taken the leap, tho'. Until I got asked to help in shipping. And I've done nearly 18 hrs of shipping just so far this week working evenings. Argh!! I don't mind the extra time, but it sure hits home that we need something to help in this department.

So, most likely the big problem for them right now is getting the time to sit down with it and just do it. They're looking at over 8k items to inventory. Not sure if that includes the variants or not. And personally, I can't be the one that learns that system for them.

Thanks, again. I may post more inquiries later, as things come up.
