Captain
Some of you may have heard of this site... the Flash is extremely high end.

Take a look >> 2 Advanced
Cwazydawg
That site has always been the cutting edge of full fledged flash sites. Check out some of their clients.

Personally I like their color scheme from their previous version. I find this one very gothic, Hammer films esk. The animation is mind boggling.
Religious-Items.com
Wow, as a F-150 owner I went to the F-150 site and it was amazing. The level of design and graphics were specticular. Hopefully I can sell enough religious jewelry to buy myself a new F-150.
Ewestforth
Wow, very very VERY impressive.
I wish I could do that!

Something to know about 2advanced... you indeed get what you pay for. Sites at 2advanced start at $20,000. It is my understanding that Ford payed 2advanced well over $100k for thier presentation. I personally believe its worth it, but think twice before asking your developer or whoever's working on your site to develop a site like 2advanced. If you do ask, try and understand when they start laughing too. wink.gif

A couple things to note about what makes 2advanced so amazing (they're actually not my favorite flash gurus):
- they use a flash communication server and flash remoting backend which helps to speed up and improve performance.
- This current version is actually the third version of the site. The first and second versions were just as groundbreaking and stunning.

My favorite flash geeks are found over at http://www.ultrashock.com (hence my name), where you'll find the best flash sites on the planet and won't even have to look very hard. cheers. online2long.gif

Cap - wow! those are incredible. I've never really gotten into designing flash. Nice to see what can be done thou.

High-end Flash is great for some applications... but, as you can imagine, this type of Flash would not be conducive to effective e-commerce. smile.gif

Yeah,

That is what I was thinking Captain....

Flash to me is for sites like theirs to show their customers their skills, and also for other sites if they use it at a very minimum.

Hi guys,
You may want to take alook at this:

Even as a designer and developer i constantly wrestle with the usability demons.
What works for some may not work for others.
Interesting debate all the same....and it won't go away either.

Cheers,

You thought it was hard then? Try Actionscript v2.0 and the new scripting language Director MX. Then lets make everything fast for everybody using streaming technologies with Flash Communication Server, Flash Remoting Server, ColdFusion and J2EE. It's still hard... and even more hard to keep on top of it all. wink.gif

My friend Shane Mielke is a flash developer for 2Advanced. I used to work with him at a small web development company when he was just using Hot Metal Pro to create websites. Needless to say, his skills have really blossomed. His personal website is http://www.pixelranger.com

They are located about 10 minutes from my home, in Aliso Viejo, CA. They have a great work environment - very quiet and focused employees there! I was one of the fortunate few who got to take a look at their facilities!

That is a friggin awesome site! Love it! Had to do some research...

In 2001 PixelRanger's team was paid $9 million to design mazdausa.com (not the current site)! To date, that's his highest budgeted site.

PixelRanger is activae on Ultrashock.com which is where I found this info. I found these to be some overwhelmingly impressive numbers and thought I'd share. wink.gif

I was never aware of that! WOW! That's some serious cash.
