How do you change the order status on the monstersmile.gif Admin panel to complete?

We used to cut and paste the tracking numbers, change the status to complete and save.

It became too labor intensive and I finally ordered the Stone Edge order status system, we still would like to close all open orders on the admin panell.

Is there a way to automate this process? or I would still need to take the list of orders processed in a given day check the boxes next to the order # and change the status to complete? This is much easier and faster than what we used to do but I would like to avoid this as well.

Any thoughts from Stoneedge users out there?

Thanks,

Nuriel

We renamed our 'New Orders' status to 'Please call 800-XXX-XXXX for order status', and let all new orders just stay in that status. Most of our customers don't actually create accounts; those that do see this message and then call us if they need information. We were wasting at least an hour a day updating order status on monstersmile.gif (New -> In Process, In Process -> Shipped, In Process -> Backordered, Backordered -> Shipped, etc.)

Jared,

Thanks for the reply. Does it mean that you let the orders aacumulate on the admin panell?

Unfortunately SE can't send the tracking info to MC out of the box. You could probably do it by exporting info from SE and uploadiing via DP somehow, but who has time for that!

We just manually move all the MC orders in to complete once processed and shipping in SE. We use the the SE Order Status add on to provide all the tracking info online, therefore bypassing the whole MC account thing. Much easier and provides instant updates to our customers.

Nuriel-

Yep, it does. Of course, we never log in to the admin panel unless we're editing products/website, so we don't really see it anyway. All of our day-to-day management (except website/product changes) is done in StoneEdge.

we don't use SEOM order status, but we do send out the tracking numbers via email the same day we ship (usually the same day). We also use the Multi-Order Processor to send out "Your Order will ship today emails" when we capture the card.

The customer is getting 3 emails from us. One from monstersmile.gif "About Your Order XXXXX", then the next one once we receive their order in SE "Your Order will Ship Today".... and the last one, "Order + Tracking Number".

Every week I go through the admin panel and move all new orders to completed orders. It takes a little bit of time, but at least I can select 25 at a time =/

PS.. we also turned off email confirmation in monstersmile.gif when the order gets moved to completed

Now that the Order Status System is in place, at what stage do you notify your customers that they can check the order status at the following LINK

We currently send 2 emails The 1st is the order confirmation when they place their order (I guess this can be a place to notify them on the Order Status System)

The 2nd email is the shipping notification with UPS tracking # , we send this email at the end of they after we closed the UPS End of Day

Any thoughts

Thanks,

I would think email 1 would be a good place that they can check the link.

I would say "Please check your order at the following link: xxxxxxx" I might also mention since you are using stone edge order status system, and unless you are processing orders 24/7, you may want to add something to the affect "it may take up to 24 hours before you can track your order" something of that nature

We advise the customer in the order confirmation email of where they can check their order status. On the page where they can check the order status, we just have a note advising new orders take 24 hours to appear in the order status system.
